Bio

lawerencebatteylonghairacousticRaised in Oregon, ASCAP’s award winning national performing blues soul singer-songwriter, guitarists, composer, and producer, Lawrence BaTTEY, serves up a delicious mix of heavy-electric blues, with a taste of southern-soul funky groove, that sits on a hot bed of jazz and rock n roll.  The band’s throwback mentality and style of the late sixties is reminiscent of the icon bands, Jimi Hendrix, Band of Gypsies, CREAM, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Allman Brothers.  The music is timeless; you can’t tell if it was recorded in 1969 or 2015.  With songs, “I Know It Ain’t Right”, “Everyday I Look In The Mirror”, “Summer Highway”, and “Stormy Monday” (T-Bone Walker), you will get a taste for what this band is all about.

This power foursome of A-list of musicians is the fresh new face to an old style of music that is best experienced through their live shows. Their performances will take you on a euphoric improvisational roller coaster ride that has soul, integrity, and pure prowess on all instruments. With a rhythm section made up of Berklee School of Music graduate, Chris Carlson, on Drums, NYC’s Bass Collective graduate, Jeff Brumley, on Bass, and West Coast Great, Joe Doria, on Hammond B3 Organ, the band is tight.

After a fateful run in with a kid that sold him a guitar on the streets of downtown Portland, Oregon, Lawrence taught himself to play by diving deep into the blues and cutting his teeth to Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  This journey led him to leave Corporate America to pursue his passion of music and becoming a national artist.  Having shared the stage with Sonny Landreth, Will Hoge, Roger Fisher (Heart), and Gody McJohn (Steppenwolf), and the release of three albums, Lawrence has made a name for himself as a prolific guitarist, singer-songwriter, producer, and performer. His upcoming album, “Home”, will be released Christmas 2015.
